The 17th annual National Peace Officers Memorial Run is coming through the Ottawa Valley today. Mélanie Perreault a Probation and Parole Officer has the details.
She also says there will be special guests.
Perreault mentions that this is the first time this run is happening locally.
The run will begin with an opening ceremony at the Pembroke Amphitheatre beginning at 8am. The annual “Run to Remember” is also a way for both peace officers and civilians alike to pay tribute to those officers who have given their lives in service of their Community and their Country. This year, the organization will be donating $45,000 to the family of 6 fallen officers in 2020-2021.
