Another school year is officially getting underway.
The majority of students with the Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) will be returning to class for in-person learning starting today (September 7th, 2021).
Director of Education Pino Buffone says about 95% to 96% of students will be back in the classroom with online learning still an option for parents and guardians.
He adds they’re excited to be able to offer extra-curricular activities like sports again this school year with enhanced COVID-19 safety protocols in place.
The Director of Education for the RCDSB says across Ontario there’s a requirement for staff to either provide proof of vaccination or have to get rapid tested on a regular basis.
Buffone is wishing all students, staff and school communities a safe and happy start to the new school year.
