Toward the end of the COVID-19 shortened CCJHL Tier-Two season, the Arnprior Packers were impressing with their playoff legs.
The club had eliminated their former rival Renfrew Junior Timberwolves, and were two games into the second round before the season was abruptly cancelled.
A lot has changed since then; Renfrew has graduated to Junior A Play, and the Tier Two league is now known as the Eastern Ontario Junior hockey League.
Packers club owner Matthew Couvrette says a nucleus of players from last year had laced up when training camp opened August 21st.
The core was joined by over twenty hopefuls, and numbers could be pared down once the Packers play a pair of exhibition encounters starting September 10th.
