Momentum is building among Ontario’s 34 Health Units to push the Province into implementing an Ontario-wide proof-of-vaccination system.
So far Premier Doug Ford has said he will be steadfast in not going anywhere near the concept, and there’s chatter among the regional health units that they could do it on their own.
Dr. Robert Cushman, Acting Medical Officer of Health with the RCDHU agrees pressure is mounting to get Queen’s Park to fall in line.
CityNews apparently managed to reach the vacationing local top doc for his comments Thursday.
Cushman says the province may be late to the party, but thinks with the support of all 34 health units, they will get there eventually.
He believes the concept is supported by about 80 percent of Ontario residents.
The Region of Peel has announced its plans to go it on their own, and the dominoes should soon begin to fall.
