The OPP has laid charges after a stolen vehicle from Ottawa ended up in Arnprior.
Police say early this morning (August 9th, 2021) around 1:00am, the Renfrew detachment of the OPP was made aware that a stolen vehicle from Ottawa was heading towards Arnprior on Highway 417.
Officers made several unsuccessful attempts to stop the vehicle, but the suspect continued at a high rate of speed and exited at the turn off for White Lake Road.
The vehicle proceeded onto Daniel Street in Arnprior, but lost control.
Police say the driver exited the vehicle on foot, but was arrested moments later.
30-year-old Mathew Hanes of Ottawa is facing charges of dangerous operation, flight from police officer, possession of property obtained by crime and fail to comply with probation order.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on September 15, 2021.
