The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) says 70% of the population over the age of 12 have now received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
As of Monday (July 26th, 2021), there was 135,371 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine administered through one of several clinics in Renfrew County and District.
8 out of 10 people (80.9%) living in Renfrew County and District, including members of the Canadian Armed Forces, have received their first vaccine doses.
The RCDHU says 71.3% of the population has received two doses.
While the majority of the population has been vaccinated, the health unit says roughly 18,000 eligible residents have NOT received their first dose.
The group of residents in Renfrew County and District between 18 and 40 years of age have the lowest vaccination rates.
Health unit staff even if you have been vaccinated, it is important to continue following public health measures, such as physical distancing, wearing a mask and hand hygiene.
