Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch across the Ottawa Valley.
Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and large hail.
Hazards include wind gusts up to 110 km/h, ping pong ball size hail, a tornado is also possible.
Environment Canada says the storms are expected to last to early this evening.
Meteorologists are tracking a line of thunderstorms has developed near Georgian Bay and is tracking east towards the area.
Strong wind gusts are likely with this line of thunderstorms.
The potential for severe thunderstorms with strong wind gusts and hail will continue throughout the day today.
Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:
- Barry’s Bay – Killaloe
- Petawawa – Pembroke – Cobden
- Renfrew – Arnprior – Calabogie
