The OPP has charged an individual in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Carleton Place.
Officers from Lanark County OPP responded to the robbery from a business near the intersection of Highway 7 and McNeely Road on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at approximately 12:40 p.m.
One person was taken into custody a short time later after officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device to stop a stolen vehicle on Highway 7.
28-year-old Dylan Meulmeester of Ottawa has been charged with:
- Armed Robbery
- Dangerous Operation
- Failure to comply with release order – 12 Counts
- Flight from peace officer
- Imitation Firearm – Use while committing offence
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired (over 80)
- Operation while prohibited
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- The accused remains in custody.
The Renfrew County OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation into other related incidents that occurred yesterday.
