The Arnprior & McNab/Braeside Archives (AMBA) is being celebrated after the facility was announced as this year’s winner of a Provincial accolade Thursday (June 24th).
The Archives Association of Ontario (AAO) has chosen our local archives as this year’s winner of its Institutional Award for its community contributions.
The AMBA was specifically recognized for the efforts of its archivist and dedicated volunteers—who provide around 3000 hours of service annually.
The cataloguing and descriptive work of the volunteer cadre is exemplary.
Despite having to close to the public during the pandemic, the work of the Archives continued, including
involvement with several significant projects.
Looking forward, the AMBA is pleased to announce that Kristen Mercier has joined as our new archivist.
Kristen is a Valley product who is returning home from the UK where she worked as an assistant archivist for St. George’s Chapel Archives and Chapel Library at Windsor Castle.

In-person visits will be available by appointment once public health protocols have eased.
