Upwards of $1.5-million is coming to municipalities in Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke, including over $183,000 for Renfrew and over $189,000 for Arnprior.
The federal and provincial governments have announced more than $22.2-million in funding for infrastructure projects in 130 municipalities in eastern Ontario.
Funding will be used to improve and protect important municipal buildings such as town centres and emergency and healthcare facilities.
Other projects include improving playgrounds, local trails and pedestrian path systems as more people are getting outdoors during the pandemic.
Funding to local municipalities:
The Town of Arnprior will receive just under $189,283.
The Town of Renfrew will receive $183,673
the City of Pembroke will receive $166,210.
The Town of Petawawa will receive $100,000.
Whitewater Region will receive $100,00.
Bonnechere Valley will receive $100,000.
The Township of South Algonquin will receive $100,000.
McNab/Braeside will receive $100,000.
Madawaska Valley will receive $100,000.
Greater Madawaska will receive $100,000.
Laurentian Valley will receive $100,000.
The United Townships of of Head, Clara and Maria will receive $100,000.
Horton Township will receive $93,500.
