The Renfrew County and District Health Unit has provided an update on COVID-19 vaccination rates.
As of May 2nd, 2021, a total of 36,965 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered through one of several COVID19 vaccination clinics across Renfrew County and District.
The RCDHU says approximately 38% of the population aged 16+ have now received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Over 80% of residents over the age of 70 who are living in Renfrew County and District have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
On May 5, 2021, RCD residents born between 1962 and 1966 (55 to 59 years of age) are eligible to book a vaccine appointment.
Additionally, child care workers in licensed child care settings were able to start booking appointments as of April 29.
A resident of Renfrew County says they received their first COVID-19 vaccine at the Nick Smith Centre in Arnprior and was in and out in 25-minutes.
