Renfrew County 2022 has announced that Cindy Burwell, an native of Renfrew and resident of Calabogie is joining the Ontario Winter Games organizing committee as Games Manager.
Cindy brings over 20 years of event management expertise that she gained both in Canada and Europe.
She will work alongside the Games Chair, Peter Emon, County Councillor and Reeve of Renfrew.
Cindy is quoted as saying she believes wholeheartedly in the power of sport to uplift, inspire, and motivate young people, while also uniting communities.
She believes the event is a great opportunity for Renfrew County and for young athletes from all over Ontario.
This much anticipated event will be one of the first major sporting events following the COVID-19 pandemic and is expected to be a both a county-wide celebration and significant economic boost to the region.
Approximately, 3500 athletes, coaches and managers will descend on the region over two weekends in February and March of 2022.
