Police everywhere are out with seasonal safety warnings, and the Surete du Quebec is expressing its concerns about mopeds.
The SQ says vulnerable users are required to do their parts to adopt safety-enhancing behaviours.
If you operate a moped you must be at least 14 years old, have a Class 6D licence and have successfully completed the Moped accreditation.
There’s zero alcohol tolerance when operating a moped; you can’t carry a passenger, you must wear an approved helmet, stay seated while driving and hold the handle grips at all times.
The moped must have a secured rearview mirror on each side- and, believe it or not- the exhaust system can’t be too loud.
