Growth has its consequences, and it’s Rotary with the remedy.
McNab-Braeside Mayor Tom Peckett says at the Township’s April 13th municipal meeting the Rotary Club made a pitch to partner in tree planting.
The Mayor says a subdivision can swallow fifty acres of forest canopy- and the proposed highway expansion will double that.
Peckett says first the Township and the club have to decide where the new trees will go.
The Mayor says the work will begin in earnest next year, but for this, Rotary will be gifting the Township with a tree to stand at the site of the new municipal office.
