The City of Pembroke has ranked the top place to live in the Ottawa Valley in an article in Maclean’s Magazine. Earlier this month, Maclean’s released their annual Canada’s Best Communities ranking. Mayor Mike Lemay says it’s wonderful to see.
Rankings were determined on a number of factors including housing affordability, taxes, crime, weather, health, amenities, population growth, community involvement, and internet quality. Key highlights for the City of Pembroke include connectivity, housing affordability, and access to healthcare for the population size. In the study, Maclean’s partnered with Environics Analytics to measure quality of life factors for 415 communities across Canada. Pembroke ranked at number 161 in the 2021 rankings, the top ranking for any community in the Ottawa Valley.
