The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is reporting almost 15,000 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to local residents.
As of Sunday (March 28th, 2021), a total of 14,127 doses had been administered through one of several vaccination clinics.
Over the month of March, the RCDHU says on a weekly basis anywhere from 2,500 to 3,200 doses are being administered.
The health unit says about 81% of residents over the age of 80 in Renfrew County and District have received their first dose.
Residents 75 and over are now eligible to be vaccinated and those 70 and older can register, but not yet book an appointment.
Registering ensures that residents are readily available should the RCDHU receive extra vaccines, and so that staff can plan and prepare for upcoming vaccination clinics.
