The OPP has laid charges after a home invasion in Carleton Place.
Police say they were called to a residence on Townline Road East between Bridge Street and James Street on March 27th.
Initial reports indicated that shots were fired and one person sustained minor injuries, not related to the gunshots.
The firearm involved has been recovered by police.
44-year-old Joseph Waselnuk of Carleton Place is in custody pending a bail hearing and facing charges of:
- Attempt to commit murder using a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Discharge a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner
- Assault
- Break and enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence
- Mischief under $5000
- Careless use of a firearm
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm

As this is now a matter before the courts no further details will be released.
