Local police are preparing to conduct an Easter long weekend traffic campaign.
The Killaloe OPP will be participating in the provincial safety campaign with an emphasis on seatbelt compliance. The OPP says it’s important for all drivers, passengers, and young children to be properly restrained within a vehicle, regardless of the duration of the trip.
Drivers are responsible for ensuring all passengers under the age of 16 are properly secured in either a seat belt or child car seat.
Not wearing a seatbelt could result in a fine up to $240 and 2 demerit points.
Drivers can expect to see a higher volume of traffic over the Killaloe detachment between Friday April 2nd and Monday April 5th, 2021.
The Killaloe OPP would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy Easter and says let’s work together and make our roadways this Easter long weekend the safest in Canada.
