Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke Member of Parliament Cheryl Gallant has high praise for the Ontario Progressive Conservative Government’s 2021 provincial budget, which includes 2.8 billion dollars in funding for broadband.
She just wishes the Federal Liberals would follow Doug Ford’s example.
The PC Government has stepped up to help rural Ontario connect to the internet, says the member.
Gallant adds, “Now it is time for the federal Liberals to commit new funds, fast-track applications, and get fibre to our homes.”
She says a previous Grit pledge to spend $1.75 billion on connecting rural and remote communities for all of Canada over 10 years pales in comparison to the Ontario initiative.
