The province has unveiled a $186.1-billion budget that is meant to tackle the pandemic head-on. MPP for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke John Yakabuski says the spending includes billions of dollars in the fight and recovery of the pandemic.
To support Ontario’s tourism, hospitality and culture industries that have been among the most heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Ontario is investing an additional $400 million over the next three years in new initiatives. Yakabuski also says that there are benefits for local businesses.
The MPP feels the biggest investment is the addition of $2.8 billion for broadband in rural Ontario.
