Volunteers are needed for the 2022 Ontario Winter Games coming to Renfrew County.
Volunteers will need to commit roughly 10-hours per month until the fall of 2021. More time will be required into early 2022 with full availability needed the weekends of the games (February 24-27, and March 3-6, 2022).
Renfrew County communities will be hosting 3500 athletes, their coaches and event officials in Calabogie, Pembroke, Barry’s Bay, Cobden, Renfrew, Petawawa, Deep River, Eganville and Arnprior.
The weekends of the games, over 700 volunteers will be required to assist with 23 events ranging from 5-pin Bowling to Cross Country Skiing, from Fencing to Wushu, with some indoors and others outdoors.
There will be 16 sub-committees, with an orientation session provided to all volunteers in late March of this year. It’s estimated each of the sub-committees will need between 3 and 7 members.
If you have an interest in volunteering by Chairing one of the Sub Committees or being a volunteer sub-committee member, send a quick email to: info@renfrewcounty2022.ca before March 5th at 4:00 pm. In the email, you’re asked to provide a brief overview of your interest in the sub-committee you are interested in and any experience you have.
