The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine has arrived for residents at Bonnechere Manor long-term care home in Renfrew. Director of Long-Term Care with the County of Renfrew, Shelley Sheedy, shared the news with myFM this morning (Sunday, February 7th, 2021).
Sheedy says residents, staff and families are very excited to start this critical first step towards ending the Pandemic. She adds it’s a very celebratory mood at the Manor today as the team works with paramedics and the health unit to roll out the vaccines.
On social media, the long-term care home posted that resident “Paul” volunteered to be one of the first to get the vaccine.
Sheedy says Bonnechere Manor received enough doses for all residents who consented to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The director of long-term care says residents at Miramichi Lodge in Pembroke are looking forward to the same this week.
Those receiving the COVID-19 vaccine at Bonnechere Manor are in addition to the almost 400 residents at long-term care homes across Renfrew County and District who have already been vaccinated.
