An item on the agenda of Town of Arnprior Council deals with a Code-of-Conduct complaint against elected representative Lisa McGee.
The issue is that Councillor McGee allegedly maligned Mayor Walter Stack in public comments she made by attributing racist behaviour as a motivation for his perceived inaction on a file under discussion at the Council table.
Her “racist backhoe” remarks originated in a “What’s Up Arnprior” post last December 18th, and have been re-posted by others frequently since.
Integrity Commissioner William Hunter recommends McGee forfeit 30 days salary for violating several sections of the Town of Arnprior Code of Conduct.
Arnprior’s Chief Administrative Officer says Hunter’s report is not binding.
The commissioner will be in attendance at Monday’s meeting to speak to his recommendation, and the item appears early in the meeting’s agenda.
