As local students get ready for their second day back to school today, there’s a sense of optimism among provincial leaders. myFM news spoke with Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce, who says schools were safe before the Christmas break.
The government has announced additional measures including targeted asymptomatic testing, enhanced screening and mandatory masking for students in Grades 1-3. Lecce says the mental health of students is a top priority as well, and says he understands that being in isolation isn’t easy on children.
