The first individual to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in the Ottawa Valley is a member of the Canadian military.
Private Connor Doucette of 2 Field Ambulance received his inoculation this morning.
CAF members who are frontline healthcare providers working in high risk clinical settings or who are at high risk themselves, will be the first to receive a vaccine from the Canadian Forces health care system.
Vaccinations for 1,200 CAF members in this group are anticipated between January and February.
The rest of us may play catch up when Ontario finishes vaccinating long-term care residents and health care workers in high risk areas on January 21st.
