Health Canada has approved the Moderna vaccine for use in Canada, and Eric Hanna, the Chief Executive Officer of Arnprior Regional Health, indicates it will be the vaccine designated for use in our region.
Hanna says there are cumbersome logistics for the Pfizer vaccine, including a requirement that it be vigorously shaken, making the inoculation process slow.
The ARH CEO says the list of who is to be vaccinated first locally is already in the process of being prepared.
Approval of the Moderna Vaccine can be seen as an early Christmas present for the people of our region.
