It would seem Renfrew’s Swinging Bridge, and a new government grant program were tailor-made for each other, according to Mike Asselin, the Town’s Director of Development and Works.
The suspension bridge crosses the Bonnechere River between Mutual and Arthur Avenues, and has been showing signs of wear.
The Swinging Bridge was last rebuilt in 1983.
Asselin says the cost of repairs and the dollar value of the grant coincide almost exactly- 183, 673 dollars.
Renfrew Town Council approved the application at it meeting Tuesday (December 15th).
