Arnprior Mayor Walter Stack knows this will be a challenging Christmas, with plenty of hand sanitizing and social distancing and very little in the way of festive gatherings and parties.
Stack notes that it is possible to find creative solutions to give holiday traditions a COVID make-over- as Theresa Carron and her crew of volunteers did with the Santa Drive-By at the Nick Smith Centre last Sunday.
The Mayor says Town staff have been hard at work putting together some holiday activities and contests to keep you busy all month long- among them, the Arnprior Advent Activity Calendar which provides daily activities up until Christmas day.
Holiday Skates and swims at the Nick Smith Centre will begin on December 21st, you can register for them at www.arnprior.ca/registration.
Today (Thursday, December 3rd) from 4:00 – 8:00 pm the Greater Arnprior Chamber of Commerce is hosting their Moonlight and Mistletoe Shopping event.
It’s the perfect opportunity to get your Christmas Shopping done locally as many of the businesses will be open late and offering specials.
The Mayor is encouraging you to enter your house, business or organization’s decorations in the Town’s Annual Christmas Lights Contest.
A map of participating addresses will be posted to www.arnprior.ca/lightitup on December 14th.
Merry Christmas and a happy, prosperous and safe new year.
