The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP has identified the pedestrian involved in a fatal collision on Highway 17.
The incident took place last week (October 29th) around 6:30 am and forced the closure of the highway for several hours.
Police say a westbound pickup truck and pedestrian collided and 43-year-old Frederick Thomas Patton of Kenora, Ontario was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old from Whitewater Region, was not injured.
The OPP says for unknown reasons the pedestrian was found to be on the roadway at the time of the collision and no charges will be laid.
