Renfrew is going digital with their new town signs. Reeve Peter Emon says the project is funded one hundred percent, with the exception of staff time, from the provincial modernization grant.
The operating costs for all four signs is roughly 5000 dollars annually and Emon adds these community information signs are a great idea for Renfrew.
There was some backlash to the announcement on social media; tax payers were frustrated with what they perceived as foolish spending of tax dollars. Emon says he wasn’t surprised and admits council needs to take some ownership of that
Final installation is expected to be completed in February or March of next year.
