COVID is impacting all demographics, but it could hit our seniors the hardest. The Arnprior McNab Braeside Mens Shed is a program intended to keep senior men socializing and feeling connected to their community. Darrel O’Shaugnessy said they were mildly concerned earlier this year, they had actually shut down at the start of COVID. But, luckily, the closure turned out to be shorter than expected.
He says they cut back to about 5 people and soon found themselves working on pieces of PPE for several organizations, not just locally. In time the rules loosened and allowed 15 men to return to the program.
