The province and health unit continue to report different COVID-19 case numbers into the second wave of the pandemic.
Today Public Health Ontario reported a jump in five cases for a total of 75 confirmed cases in Renfrew County and District.
The case summary from the Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is only showing two new cases today for 72 confirmed cases.
Both new cases today reported by the RCDHU are from the Renfrew area and there’s 13 cases across the region currently in self-isolation.
The RCDHU says this has been a common scenario across Ontario.
The health unit says while there may be short term discrepancies, for the most part numbers should be the same.
The RCDHU adds sometimes, individual’s with a positive case of COVID-19 are assigned to a geographical location based on where they were tested.
The health unit reviews this information and if it’s determined the client does not live in the region, they are removed from RCDHU’s case counts and added to the appropriate health unit case count.
