Ontario is implementing fines up to $10,000 for organizers of illegal gatherings and limiting public events and gatherings in the three regions hit hardest by COVID-19.
Premier Doug Ford says hosts of BBQ’s, parties and at parks will be fined $10,000 and those who attend will face fines of $750.
Ford says in Ottawa, Toronto and Peel, outdoor gatherings will be restricted to 25 with only 10 allowed indoors.
Staffed businesses such as movie theaters, restaurants, gyms and convention centres can follow along with the limits set everywhere else in Ontario, which includes 50 indoors and 100 people outdoors.
The Premier also said residential rent increases will be halted in 2021.
