At the Town of Arnprior’s virtual Council meeting Monday (September 14th), elected representatives received feedback from Planner Jim Hutton about an August 17th public meeting at the Nick Smith Community Centre dealing with a proposed Baskin Drive subdivision.
Mayor Walter Stack enjoyed some time off in August, and wasn’t at the session, but from what he’s read of Hutton’s report, the questions raised by concerned residents over the project appear to have been addressed.
Stack says one worry was over the number of townhouses proposed for the subdivision- but these dwellings satisfy affordable housing criteria.
Another objection was the five-storey apartment buildings that will be a component of the residential mix.
These too are sanctioned in the community’s Official Plan.
Council received Hutton’s presentation in a 5-2 recorded vote.
