Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Barry’s Bay, Killaloe, Petawawa, Pembroke, Cobden, Renfrew, Arnprior and Calabogie areas.
Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
Severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon or early this evening with wind gusts near 100 kilometres per hour moving west to east through the region.
Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
