A local councillor has been elected to the Rural Caucus for the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO).
Renfrew Reeve Peter Emon has severed on the board for 4 of the last 6 years.
He says he will continue to press for support for rural Ontario.
Emon says some of his priorities for rural Ontario include improved broadband and cell service, more infrastructure investment, support for long-term care, physician recruitment and paramedicine.
Other priorities include COVID-19 relief for municipalities and ensuring the transition to a full producer responsibility for managing waste is fair and delivers on past promises.
