The numbers released from the Renfrew County and District Health Unit today (August 24th) show a new COVID-19 case confirmed.
The local health unit says 31 people have now tested positive for the novel coronavirus in our area.
This breaks a trend of almost a month without a new case in Renfrew County and District with the last case reported by the health unit on July 28th.
The new case is listed in Renfrew and and is showing as a health care worker employed in Renfrew County and District.
The previous updates from the RCDHU had only showed 10 cases in Renfrew and area.
The last update from the health unit also showed 13 local health care workers testing positive for COVID-19 with 10 of them employed outside of Renfrew County and District.
With a total of 31-confirmed cases, 30 considered resolved and one death the health unit is not aware of any active cases, meaning the new case is listed as resolved.
