The Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) program is entering its third iteration after another previous attempt to revise it.
Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke Member of Parliament Cheryl Gallant says when the CEWS first rolled out, it offered businesses a ten percent subsidy of the worker’s wage to retain the employee.
That was subsequently boosted according to a complicated formula that also excluded new or seasonal businesses from eligibility.
The MP says the third version of the CEWS will begin accepting applications this coming Monday (August 17th).
Gallant says the government is providing an online calculator that will allow a business to determine the ballpark range of the potential assistance.
She says if you can’t access the calculator, or need help with the CEWS application, get in touch with her office.
