Temperatures continue to soar across the Ottawa Valley. Environment Canada has since issued a Heat Warning for the second straight day with a possible humidex reading of 36 today and a chance of more rain this afternoon. You are being reminded to never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle. Symptoms of heat related illness can include dizziness/fainting, nausea/vomiting, rapid breathing and extreme thirst. The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
