The Outaouais Public Health Department (CISSS) confirms an outbreak of COVID-19 at Gatineau Hospital.
Both patients and staff members are affected.
Patients with the virus have been transferred to the designated Covid-19 unit at the Hull Hospital.
The CISSS has also placed 4 units at Gatineau Hospital in preventive isolation.
A massive screening of patients and employees will endeavour to get a handle on how widespread the outbreak may be, and an increased presence of Infection Prevention and Control teams is being deployed.
The number of confirmed cases in Outaouais Region now stands at 304, with regional data updated daily by 4PM.
