Renfrew County has opened up its recreational trails- but read the fine print before you rev up your enthusiasm.
There are all sorts of rules to follow.
Two metre social distancing rules apply in the great outdoors; you can only share the fun with four of your friends at any one time- and don’t touch anything.
There are general guidelines always remain in effect, even when there is no COVID: Obey all posted speed limits and stop signs.
Don’t ride a dirt bike or motorcycle on County trails.
Keep your pets on a leash- don’t forget stoop and scoop applies to both dogs and horses!
Ottawa media aren’t reporting this part- but Bob Sweet, Chair of both the Renfrew County Property and Development Committee and the Algonquin Trail Committee says those coming from outside Renfrew County are not being invited to use our trails at this time, due to the risk of spreading COVID-19.
As well, the Algonquin Trail from Greenwood Road to Algonquin College remains closed while County staff complete brushing work.
Renfrew County ATV trails will not be opened by the club until States of Emergency have been cleared.
