Though she wasnʼt born here, Jackie Agnew has made the Valley her home. Jackie was born and raised in Kemptville, she moved to the Valley in 1988. The former Bonnchere Valley Councillor lives in the village of Eganville with her husband Steve and she currently works for Renfrew County Housing. In addition to serving as a township councillor for four years, Jackie ran for the Liberals in the last provincial election; sheʼs a vocal advocate for mental health and used her election platform to draw attention to the lack of services in Renfrew County.
Jackie has been on the board for the United Way, served on many youth boards and she was an educational assistant as well as school support councillor for the Renfrew County District School Board. Sheʼs the matriarch of a blended family. She and her husband have three children between then and two grandchildren. Jackie started Building Blocks for Mental Health, but backed away after her home burned down in 2018. She focused her family and her own health, but is now back with a weekly virtual segment on facebook called Mental Health Mondays.
