Today and every Wednesday, you’re encouraged to order out to support local restaurants. Wednesday’s have been declared National Takeout Day across Canada. This un-official holiday will continue for the remainder of the global health crisis. Many local restaurants and food delivery services such as Valley Eats have started to offer contactless deliveries to help keep everyone safe.
The Public Health Agency of Canada says there’s no evidence to suggest that food is a likely source of transmission of the virus. Health inspectors continue to work with local restaurants to ensure they adhere to safe food handling practices and all the restrictions in place. Ordering take-out during the COVID-19 pandemic is a safe way to support local businesses.
