Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced support for non-profit and community organizations. Trudeau says they are launching the Emergency Community Support Fund with part of the proceeds going to small independent front line organizations with the rest going to national organizations such as the Red Cross and United Way.
The Prime Minister says this is a $350-million fund so charities and non-profits can adapt to challenges created by this pandemic. Trudeau also talked about a new calculator that will launch on the CRA website for the wage subsidy program to let businesses know how much they can expect to receive.
Companies can apply starting Monday (April 27th) with more details to be announced later.
