More help for Canadian businesses has been announced by the federal government. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says they are expanding the emergency business account to help with any cash flow problems. Trudeau says businesses who spent between $20,000 and $1.5-million in payroll last year are now eligible for a loan up to $40,000.
Trudeau also says they are working to introduce the emergency commercial rent assistance program to help cover rent costs in April, May and June.
The Prime Minister says they are working with the provinces and territories to make this possible and will share more information about the business rental assistance program as it becomes available.
