The Feds are loosening their pocket strings to free up more money for Canadians impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Canada Emergency Response Benefit is expanding to including seasonal workers, those who have run out of their EI coverage for the year and workers who make less than 1000 dollars a month due to reduced hours. CERB provides 2000 dollars in four week chunks until October 3. You must apply for each block separately. The government has implemented a staggered application process to reduce the burden on the system.
The day on which you can apply for CERB is staggered according to month you were born in:
