Domestic violence is on the rise in Renfrew and Arnprior. During the past week, Renfrew OPP responded to 7 domestic disputes. One accused has been charged with assault, two counts of assault a peace officer and two counts of resist arrest, while another accused has been charged with assault, forcible confinement and two counts of mischief. Police are reminding everyone that if you or someone you know is living in or involved in an abusive relationship help is available. You could also attend the emergency department of any hospital in Renfrew County and ask to speak to a member of the Assault Response Team.
