A local resident is facing numerous charges following an incident on April 8. According to police, the Killaloe OPP were following up on a report of a stolen vehicle in Barry’s Bay area just before 9pm. Officials say they spotted the vehicle, but the driver fled at high speed with police attempted to stop the suspect. Killaloe OPP site safety concerns for not pursuing the the driver. Both the Upper Ottawa Valley and Renfrew detachments were made aware of the situation and the the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP found the vehicle in a ditch on Ruby Road in Bonnchere Valley township. Police say the individual was not seriously hurt but they were taken to the hospital by paramedics as a precaution. A 27 year old resident of Golden Lake is facing charges of operation while impaired, flight from police, theft of a motor vehicle, failure to comply with a recognizance and failure to comply with a probation order. They’re expected in court in June, no names were released by police.
