The Ontario government has launched an online portal to match available health care workers with employers. This afternoon (April 7th) the province announced they were taking additional steps to stop the spread of COVID-19. Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, Christine Elliott, says they’ve heard from thousands of volunteers who want to help in any way they can.
Elliott says the new Health Workforce Matching Portal will connect retired or non-active health care professionals, students, internationally educated health care professionals, and volunteers with health care experience to join the province’s response to COVID-19.
Employers and interested health care professionals can visit the portal online and create a profile. Once registered, professionals can add their availability and employers can enter their request for support. Registrants will receive an email notification if matched.
