It’s not your typical wedding, but a Renfrew couple still tied the knot during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sales rep at myFM, Cassandra Fleury (now Shields), says they had a church wedding planned for June 27th and a back-up date for August 15th. She says with everything going on right now they decided to move the wedding date up and were married on Saturday (April 4th).
The new bride says because of the COVID-19 pandemic they decided to cancel the stag and doe planned for the end of April and the bachelor/bachelorette party was supposed to be the May long weekend.
Due to social gathering restrictions, the wedding party was limited to five people including the bride, groom, two witnesses and the officiant.
Shields says they hope to celebrate with all their friends and family at a later date. She adds they video chatted with family to break the news.
